Our favorite places to eat in town
Although the options may seem few, there are some very good local eats with even a few options for vegetarian, vegan and gluten sensitive folks.
For breakfast / Cafe
Hoss and Jill
Open early and has a wide selection of breakfast and lunch items. Portions are generous and there is also a selection of ‘to-go’ item in their deli fridge, such as premade sandwhich, pepperoni, cheese, salads, ect…
Open 7am to 4pm.

Camp Cafe in Silverton
Worth the drive to Silverton (which is a quaint little town worth seeing). You will find great coffee and amazing cakes. You will find pastries and a large selection of cheesecake. Even though I am personally not a fan of cheesecake or carrot cakes, the one’s Julie makes are amazing. She also has some gluten free options, which are amazing (you wouldn’t be able to tell they are gluten free…).
Open 9am to 2pm

Off the Clock
Our favorite is also Off the Clock for lunch for a variety of delicious sandwiches. It is inside the Arrow and Anchor pizza place if you have a hard time finding it. They just have a different name for their lunch menu.
Opens: Thursday to Sunday 11 am to 2:30pm. Closed Mon, Tues & Wed (however, their hours may varies depending on the season).
Paddy Shack
In the summer, Paddy Shack is open for indulging in a good junk meal. Outdoor seating only.

For dinner
The Lodge
We enjoy everything we’ve had so far. They also always have a good featured meal of the day. We suggest asking for a table at the back of the restaurant instead of the front, for a nicer setting.

Arrow and Anchor Pizza
Best wings in town and great pizza. The Campfire S’more pizza is also a must for desert. A small slice goes a long way and it a nice shareable item to finish the meal. Open Tuesday to Sunday 4pm to 8pm. Although, please check updated hours on their website. A lot of businesses change their hours depending on the high or low season.
Bella Soriah
Good food and nice patio if the weather is nice. They have limited hours, so it’s always best to check when they are open. It is also the same chef as Chanterelle, the restaurant at Halcyon Hot Springs, so if you go for a dip at Halcyon, we recommend eating at Chanterelle (same menu). Service is on the slower side, so if you are an ‘hangry’ eater, consider arriving slightly earlier than your usual meal time… welcome to the Kootenays. Usually opens 5 pm to 8 pm (check website for schedule).
Other options
If you wish to cook your own meal, Save-on-Food is the main grocery store in town. It is open from 8am to 7pm.
There is also Homegrown Market which is our little local natural food market. It has organic and local produce and vegan snacks. https://homegrownmarket.ca/
The local farmer’s market is held on Saturday. You will find lot of local farmers and bakers selling produce and goods. It is open from mid-May to mid-October, 9 am to 1 pm.
